How a new dryer vent run gets installed in St Davids

First the dryer comes out and the old duct comes off. We measure the run to daylight and pick the shortest honest path. In pre-1940 stone and stucco homes that usually means a rim-joist or window-well side-wall exit. Drilling stone or stucco is slow work and gets cored, not hammered. Second-floor and renovated laundries often need a long attic or interior-chase run to a roof cap or gable vent. Rigid galvanized pipe gets assembled with the male end pointing downstream, joints taped, screws left out of the interior seams.

Then the termination. A hooded cap with a working damper, never a screen. Screens here fill with maple and sycamore seed and oak pollen within a season.
